On April 12, 2025, the Texas School of Health Sciences (TSHS), a 2023, 2024 and 2025 Knapp Community Care Foundation grantee, graduated its first cohort of 26 individuals prepared to sit for the registered nurse licensing
exam. This achievement was the result of a successful collaboration between TSHS, Prime Healthcare, and KCCF.
We're proud to have helped launch this school with a total investment of $421,666. TSHS offers an accelerated nursing program that provides a fully funded education and clinical placements at Prime Healthcare hospitals across the Rio Grande Valley upon licensure. Through partnerships with schools and healthcare providers, KCCF funding is helping address the critical shortage of healthcare professionals. These investments strengthen the local workforce and empower individuals and families to achieve long-term economic stability and build generational wealth, ultimately leading to healthier communities and better health outcomes.
